Referral Process

When referred by a GP with a mental health care plan, clients are entitled to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Alternatively, clients may choose to self-refer and pay for sessions privately. Referrals are also accepted from Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and participants of the NDIS.

Janet is experienced in the assessment and treatment of a range of psychological issues including:

She also offers assistance in relation to stress management, anger management, assertiveness training, and personal growth and development

Clinical Supervision

Janet is available to provide clinical supervision to psychologists and mental health clinicians working in private practice, NGO's, and the public sector.

Secondary Consultation

Janet is available to provide consultation to professionals, community groups, and other organisations on a range of psychological topics/issues. Her expertise particularly lies in providing information and support to carers of individuals with a mental illness, psychosis, and suicide prevention. Therapeutic Approach

Janet takes a client-centred and collaborative approach, working together with clients to identify their needs and goals. She draws upon a number of approaches depending on the condition, suitability, and preferences of the client. These are; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
